Privacy policy

romm5 is built for people who self-host precisely because they care where their data lives. The short version: the app has no accounts, shows no ads, and sends nothing about you or your library to us or anyone else.
The romm5 app
- romm5 talks to exactly one place: your own RomM server, at the address you configure or that it discovers on your network.
- Your server address is stored on the device. The pairing token RomM issues is stored in the device's Keychain. Neither ever leaves the device, and both are deleted when you forget the server or disconnect the device.
- Your RomM password is never entered into, seen by, or stored in romm5 — pairing is approved on another device that is already signed in to RomM.
- The contents of your library — game names, files, artwork, save data — move only between the device and your server. romm5 never inspects, indexes, or uploads your library anywhere else.
- romm5 contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
This website (romm.games)
- We use Aptabase, a privacy-first analytics service, to count anonymous page views and link clicks. It uses no cookies, stores no personal identifiers, and cannot follow you across sites.
- Our host, Cloudflare, may collect standard operational logs and aggregate performance analytics for the site.
- There are no ad networks, social embeds, or third-party scripts.
If you email hello@romm.games, we keep the correspondence only as long as needed to help you, and never share it or add you to any list without asking.
Changes
If this policy changes materially — for example, if a future release adds opt-in diagnostics — the change will be described here with a new date before it takes effect.
